HUECU hosted its annual THRIVE Home Buying Forum the first week of March, welcoming over 500 participants across three days of sessions – a record setting number for the Credit Union! Participants took place in three virtual sessions: Real Estate Market Trends; a panel discussion with home buying experts; and the Home Buying Process. A fourth session on the Home Buying Process was also held in Spanish. Recordings of all presentations can be found on the HUECU YouTube channel.
Attendees heard from experts ranging in professions from real estate law to loan origination. “Whether you’re a first time home buyer or not…the home buying process is the same for everybody,” commended Paul H. Clough, attorney at the Law Office of Paul H. Clough, Esq. “The only variable is the buyer’s familiarity with the process and, consequently, the buyer’s level of comfort.” As Clough points out, the home buying process can be intimidating, particularly in a market that has changed somewhat drastically over the last couple of years, but experienced professionals like those that presented at this forum are here to help demystify the process and find buyer’s their perfect home.
After each session, attendees were able to ask questions of the presenters. Popular topics included how to find the best rate, what sites to use to search for homes, how to save for a down payment, and assembling a strong home buying team. Presentations can be viewed in full on our YouTube channel.
