HUECU recently sponsored the Chief Nurse Address at Mass General Hospital in celebration of National Nurses Appreciation Week. It was our small, humble way of saying “thank you” for the important, life-saving work of the amazing nurses at MGH and beyond.
Debbie Burke, Senior Vice-President for Patient Care and Chief Nurse, kicked off the celebration at MGH by delivering a moving address about teamwork that highlighted a few of the many teams across MGH who not only care for patients and families, but also for one another.
Through several short vignettes woven throughout her speech, she highlighted the value of diversity, innovation and generosity in patient care throughout MGH.
Nurses deserve appreciation year around. They work long hours caring for us and our loved ones, often on the front line of trauma and critical care.
